Document attestation is a prerequisite that has to be considered when you are procuring a visa or Exporting Goods to another country or starting a business / branch abroad. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and Apostille attestation is required when you are visiting a country that is a member country in the Hague Convention, therefore pre and post authentication/Legalization i.e. State level and Embassy attestation is also required.
When you apostille a document, an apostille sticker and/or a stamp is obtained from the authority. It is computer generated with a unique identification number and is affixed on the back of the document. This maintains a record online and allows the concerned authorities to check the authenticity of the document.
